Recently one client came to us with slides that her father invented a format for. Rather than the expected, paper or plastic frame, her dad had made these very interesting metal frames to hold his slide images. Vintage Images did not have a transfer unit that held metal framed slides, but we are never ones to back down from a challenge.
We came up with a very clever way to scan these slides which basically was a set-up that utilized a small support system that balanced a dimmable LED video light. We experimented with numerous light intensities, height adjustments for how close the light was to the media and finally we had success. It worked like a charm and the final image are the proof.
